Tiramisù

Tiramisù is without a doubt my absolute best dish. A very dear friend was so gracious as to give away her secret recipe and it has a been a hit every time I have served it. Fast and simple to make but beware you use good espresso coffee and proper chocolate powder! The power of ingredients is the trick to a good dish!

Ingredients

  • 1 box of sponge biscuits
  • 4 eggs
  • 500gr mascarpone
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Marsala wine
  • good espresso coffee
  • good chocolate powder (not Nesquick)

Directions

  1. Beat egg yolks and sugar well
  2. Add the Marsala wine (optional)
  3. Incorporate the Mascarpone and mix
  4. Whisk egg whites until soft peaks form in separate bowl
  5. Delicately stir egg whites under the mascarpone mix
  6. Line up espresso soaked (lightly) biscuits along the bottom of a dessert dish
  7. Spread half of mascarpone mix over the biscuits
  8. Repeat espresso soaked biscuit line up and pour rest of mascarpone mix over the biscuit layer
  9. Sprinkle with real chocolate powder to decorate.
